Feeling inspired and disheartened at the same time.
I'm blown away by the resilience and compassion of the people in Florida, Georgia, Tennessee and the Carolinas. Despite the devastation and danger, neighbors are coming together to support each other in incredible ways. It's a powerful reminder of the best of humanity.
At the same time, I'm appalled by the government's response. Instead of facilitating aid, they're putting up barriers and making it harder for people to help each other. It's unacceptable and highlights how out of touch they are with the needs of the people they're supposed to serve.
But here's the thing - the government's failures aren't stopping anyone. People are rising, organizing, and taking care of each other, no matter what obstacles are thrown their way. It's a testament to the strength and generosity of the American spirit.
It's clear that it's time for a change. It's time for new leadership that will actually support the people, not hinder them. It's time for a government that reflects the compassion, resilience, and unity that we're seeing on the ground in the Carolinas and Florida.
Let's keep standing up for each other, no matter what. Let's keep showing the world what it means to be a community. And let's keep demanding better from our leaders.
